The regging information has to be stored with each drawing, so that the ImageProcessor and InkPaint know that the drawings use regging, and how to process them. When there is new information to store, the columns become darker.
You can store the information by selecting the Register To node, opening its Node Properties window, and clicking on the Save Reg into Drawings button.
If you don't store the information, you'll be warned when you next save the scene.
If the information you're saving means that image processing and/or painting will be removed from drawings (see Changing a regging below), you'll be warned and given the choice not to transfer the information.
There must be a separate reg drawing for each frame in which lines are copied from its reg-to drawing(s). When you save the regging information into the drawings, Director also duplicated drawings as necessary:
Note that a "change" can be through inbetweening (i.e. a change in pose) or through movement (i.e. a change in position).
Any duplicated reg drawings are given the suffix "+n", where "n" is a number. They appear in the XSheet as soon as they're created.
